7 GIORNI A FUERTEVENTURA

#DAY1: ATTERRATI SU MARTE!

ITA: La prima impressione una volta usciti dall’aeroporto di Puerto del Rosario è quella di essere atterrati su Marte. Il paesaggio infatti è molto simile alle immagini che ci hanno sempre mostrato del pianeta Rosso: enormi vulcani e grandi distese di rocce rossastre illuminati dal sole. Il vento è sempre protagonista, sia nel clima che nel nome stesso dell’Isola. Pare infatti che il nome Fuerteventura si possa scomporre in “Fuerte”= “Forte” e “Ventura”= vento. “Ventura” in realtà ha anche altri significati tra cui fortuna, ventura, felicità perciò il dibattito è ancora aperto.

ENG: The first impression once you leave the airport of Puerto del Rosario is to have landed on Mars. The landscape is very similar to the images that we have always seen of the Red Planet: huge volcanoes and large expanses of reddish rocks illuminated by the sun. The wind is the protagonist in both the climate both in the Island’s name. It appears that the name Fuerteventura can be broken down into “Fuerte” = “Strong” and “Ventura” = wind. “Ventura” actually has other meanings including luck, good fortune, happiness, therefore, the debate is still open.

ITA: Una volta saliti sull’auto (vi consigliamo di prenotare con Cicar, la compagnia spagnola è la più conveniente e non vi chiederanno nemmeno un centesimo di anticipo prima del vostro arrivo!), ci dirigiamo verso il nostro appartamentino a Corralejo. Man mano che arriviamo a destinazione iniziamo a costeggiare le mille sfumature dell’oceano blu e le imponenti dune bianche. Un vero paradiso! Per chi fosse alla ricerca di un appartamento funzionale, economico ma comunque ben attrezzato e rinnovato consigliamo il Corralejo Center. Potete verificare eventuali offerte su Booking oppure contattare direttamente lo staff gentilissimo che vi assisterà per ogni esigenza e una volta arrivati vi fornirà anche ottimi consigli per esplorare l’isola.

ENG: Once up on the car (we recommend you to book with Cicar, the Spanish company is the most convenient and they even ask a penny in advance before your arrival!), we head towards our apartment in Corralejo. As we arrive at the destination we begin to coast the many blue shades of the ocean and the towering white dunes. A true paradise! For those looking for a functional apartment, cheap but still well-equipped and renovated recommend Corralejo Center. #DAY2: SCOIATTOLI, GIGANTI E OASI DI PALME.

ITA: Secondo giorno sull’Isola e primo giorno alla scoperta di angoli speciali. Si parte con una prima tappa alle Salinas del Carmen. Una breve sosta per ammirare le antiche saline, le casette dei pescatori e familiarizzare con gli scoiattoli.

ENG: Second day on the Island and first day to discover special corners of it. We start with a first step to Salinas del Carmen. A brief stop to admire the ancient salt pans, the fishing lodges and become familiar with the squirrels.

ITA Si riparte verso Las Playitas, uno dei paesini più caratteristici di tutta l’Isola. Qui l’atmosfera è totalmente diversa dalle altre località: con le sue casette bianche e azzurre sembra quasi un paesino greco. Ottima la Paella del ristorante Las Playas, gustatevela al primo piano del ristorante così potrete avere una bellissima vista su tutta la spiaggia!

ENG Then we go to Las Playitas, one of the most picturesque villages in the whole Island. Here the atmosphere is totally different from other localitions: with its white and blue houses it’s almost looks like a greek village. Great Paella of Las Playas Restaurant, taste it at the first floor so you can have a beautiful view of the whole beach!

ITA: Dopo la sosta ci dirigiamo a Vega de Rio Palmas: l’unica oasi dell’isola. Si tratta di un’oasi di palme creata dall’uomo per dar vita ad un’area verde nell’isola desertica. E’ un po’ il polmone di Fuerteventura. L’atmosfera è molto particolare. Il silenzio totale è interrotto solo dalle varie specie di uccelli che vivono nella zona. Vega de Rio Palmas, infatti, è una meta apprezzata da tutti gli amanti di “bird-watching”.

ENG: After the break we go to Vega de Rio Palmas: the only oasis on the Island. It’s an oasis of palm trees created by man to give life to a green area on the desert island. It ‘s the lung of Fuerteventura. The atmosphere is very special. The silence is broken only by the various bird species that live in the area. Vega de Rio Palmas, in fact, is a firm favorite with all the “bird-watchers.”

ITA: Prima di rientrare a Corallejo, non potevamo non fermarci per qualche scatto con i giganti dell’Isola: le imponenti statue di Betancuria che rappresentano i giganti di Guise e Ayoze, capi dei regni in cui si divideva Fuerteventura nell’epoca aborigena anteriore alla conquista.

ENG: Before returning to Corallejo, we couldn’t stop for some shots with the giants of the island: the imposing statues of Betancuria representing the giants of Guise and Ayoze, chiefs of the kingdoms in which Fuerteventura was divided in the era prior to the Aboriginal conquest.

#DAY3: ISLOTE DE LOBOS.

ITA: Concedetevi una giornata di relax totale sull’Islote di Lobos, la piccola isola tra Fuerteventura e Lanzarote, raggiungibile in soli 15 minuti di traghetto da Corralejo. Islote significa che l’isola non è abitata. In realtà è sempre visitata dai turisti e nei fine settimana si aggiungono anche i proprietari delle piccole casette dei vecchi pescatori dell’Isola. Appena arrivati a riva affrettatevi per andare a prenotare sull’unico ristorante Antonito. Paella e Pescado appena pescati e veramente sottocosto.

ENG: Treat yourself to a relaxing day on the “Islote” Lobos, the small islan between Fuerteventura and Lanzarote, just 15 minutes by ferry from Corralejo. “Islote” means that the island is not inhabited. In reality it’s always visited by tourists and on weekends there are also the owners of small houses of the old island fishermen. Upon arriving on shore hurry to go to book on the only restaurant: Antonito. Paella and Pescado are freshly caught and truly low cost.

#DAY4: SHOPPING BIO E TRAMONTI UNICI.

ITA: L’Aloe è la vera regina di Fuerteventura. Cresce e si sviluppa nonostante il clima desertico ed ha proprietà magiche nella ricostituzione della pelle e di tutto l’organismo. Non potete tornare a casa senza un prodotto dell’Azienda Verdeaurora bio-farm! Creme, oli, essenze ma anche formaggi, olio e marmellate. Tutto rigorosamente prodotti in loco e tutto naturale al 100%. Oltre allo shop affittano anche case per soggiornare nel massimo relax immersi nella natura.

ENG: Aloe is the true queen of Fuerteventura. It grows and develops despite the desertic climate and it has magical properties in the reconstitution of the skin and the whole organism. You can’t go home without a product of Verdeaurora bio-farm! Creams, oils, essences, but also cheese, olive oil and jams. All strictly produced on site and all 100% natural. In addition to the shop they also rent beautiful homes to stay in relax surrounded only by nature.

ITA: El Cotillo è conosciuta da tutti per le sue onde imponenti, ma basta spingersi verso la sua punta più a nord ovest e potrete assistere al tramonto più suggestivo di sempre! Il faro rosso di El Toston e l’immensa distesa di pietre in equilibrio sono davvero affascinanti.

ENG: El Cotillo is known by all for its impressive waves, but just go to his northwest hit and you can watch the most picturesque sunset ever! The red lighthouse El Toston and the vast expanse of balanced stones are really fascinating.

#DAY5: PROFONDO SUD – MISTERI NAZISTI E ASINI VAGANTI.

ITA: Partiamo alla conquista del profondo sud. Prima tappa: Villa Winter. Munitevi di una Jeep perchè la villa è nascosta tra le spiagge nere e le impervie montagne rocciose di Cofete e anche se molti rischiano a bordo delle loro utilitarie, la strada è davvero difficoltosa. In più, dettaglio non da poco, l’assicurazione delle utilitarie non copre alcun danno provocato in questa zona! Villa Winter è identificata come una villa costruita e utilizzata dai Nazisti come appoggio per la loro fuga verso il Sud America. Oggi è affidata a Pedro, un anziano signore spagnolo che la gestisce un po’ a modo suo. Troverete lamette ovunque, ossa di animali (ci auguriamo) sparse nel cortile e altri dettagli che alimentano la leggenda di questo luogo inquietante. Nonostante questo merita assolutamente di essere vista.

ENG: We leave to the conquest of the Deep South. First stop: Villa Winter. Equip yourself with a Jeep because the villa is hidden in the black beaches and the rugged rocky mountains of Cofete and although many are likely aboard their cars, the road is very difficult. In addition, no small detail, the assurance of utility doesn’t cover any damage caused in this area! Villa Winter is identified as a villa built and used by the Nazis as a support for their escape to South America. Today is entrusted to Pedro, an elderly Spanish man who manages it a bit in its own way. You’ll find anywhere blades, animal bones (we hope) scattered in the yard and other details that fuel the legend of this unsettling place. Although this, you absolutely have to visit it!

ITA: Dopo quest’avventura un po’ di meritato relax. Prima una passeggiata sulla spiaggia di Morro Jable tra scoiattoli, pappagalli e asini vaganti in totale libertà.

ENG: After this adventure a bit of relax. First a walk on the beach of Morro Jable including squirrels, parrots and wandering donkeys in total freedom.

ITA: Poi un tuffo nel mare cristallino della Costa Calma. La Playa di Sotavento è bellissima perchè grazie alle maree si formano delle passerelle di sabbia naturali che vi permetteranno di camminare in mezzo all’oceano.

ENG: Then a dip in the crystal waters of Costa Calma. Sotavento Playa is beautiful because thanks to the tides, there are natural sandy walkways that allow you to walk in the middle of the ocean.

#DAY6: DOVE MANGIARE SANO E BUONO.

ITA: Due i locali che ci hanno colpito davvero tanto. Per il pranzo il ristorante vegano Baobab. I proprietari, originari di Milano, si sono trasferiti qui per poter seguire e proporre la loro filosofia al 100%. E’ tutto buonissimo, ma l’insalata Baobab accompagnata da crema di anacardi e confettura di fichi è davvero super!

ENG: Two locals have very much impressed us. For lunch the restaurant vegan Baobab. The owners, originating from Milan, moved here to follow and propose their philosophy at 100%. It’s all very good, but the salad Baobab accompanied by cashew cream and fig jam is really super!

ITA: Per cena prenotate almeno una sera al Rompeolas, il ristorante al piano inferiore dell’Avanti Hotel Boutique. L’atmosfera è davvero da locale stellato e il pesce è squisito. Prima della cena provate la marmellata dolce di peperoni e il calamaro gigante alla griglia.

ENG: For dinner book at least one night at Rompeolas, the restaurant on the lower level of Avanti Hotel Boutique. The atmosphere is really from a starred restaurant and the fish is delicious. Before dinner try the jam of sweet peppers and the giant grilled squid.

#DAY7: ULTIMO GIORNO IN PARADISO.

ITA: E anche questa volta è arrivato il momento di tornare a casa, ma soprattutto in vista delle fitte nebbie invernali saremmo rimasti ancora qualche mesetto in questo paradiso. Prima di partire ultimo giretto di shopping caratteristico a Lajares. Bellissimo paesino in via di sviluppo residenziale grazie alla sua posizione strategica esattamente a metà tra Corralejo e El Cotillo. E’ ricca di negozietti d’arte e moda e di ristoranti di design.

ENG: And once again it’s time to go home, but especially in view of the dense winter fog we would have stayed a few month or more in this paradise. Before leaving last ride of traditional shopping in Lajares.
