COLMAR O NEW YORK? UN INSOLITO WEEKEND IN ALSAZIA

1. LA STATUA DELLA LIBERTA’ A COLMAR.

ITA: Cosa ci fa la statua della libertà in Alsazia? La statua si trova precisamente a Colmar, città natale di Frédéric-Auguste Bartholdi, cioè lo scultore che fu incaricato di ideare la Statua della Libertà per New York. Egli andò prima in America per valutare quale sarebbe stata la collocazione ottimale dell’opera e scelse la piccola isola di Bedloe, dove si trova ancora oggi. Poi rientrò in Francia per creare la scultura. La gigantesca testa venne presentata all’Esposizione Universale di Parigi del 1878 per raccogliere i fondi necessari al costosissimo trasporto verso la Grande Mela. Così in occasione del centesimo anniversario della scomparsa dell’artista la sua città ha deciso di dedicargli una copia della sua opera più celebre. Nonostante sia stata collocata in una rotonda non molto affascinate e sia alta solo “12 metri”, fa sicuramente il suo effetto!

The statue is located precisely in Colmar, hometown of Frédéric-Auguste Bartholdi, the sculptor who was commissioned to design the Statue of Liberty for New York. 2. PICCOLA VENEZIA O AMSTERDAM?

ITA: Colmar è anche nota per il grazioso quartiere della Piccola Venezia (La “Petite Venise”) dove si può visitare la città direttamente da piccole imbarcazioni lungo i canali che la attraversano. Il quartiere prende il nome dalla bella Venezia (theplaceB @Venezia), ma le case colorate dai tetti aguzzi e i fiori sui ponticcioli ricordano tanto anche il fascino nordico della magica Amsterdam (theplaceB @Amsterdam). I più romantici potranno visitarla di notte quando tutto il quartiere si illumina.

ENG: Colmar is also known for the beautiful neighborhood of “Little Venice” where you can see the city directly from small boats along the canals that cross it. 3. A COLMAR C’E’ ANCHE UN PO’ DI BRUXELLES.

ITA: Oltre alla Statua della Libertà e alle somiglianze con l’Italia e l’Olanda, tra i piccoli vicoli di Colmar troverete anche un simbolo Belga, in particolare della città di Bruxelles (theplaceB @Bruxelles): la copia del Manneken Pis. A differenza del gemello qui non dovrete fare lunghe file per una foto in quanto in pochi sanno di questa particolarità! Il piccolo si trova nella Rue des Augustins non lontanto dal museo Bartholdi.

4. RIQUEWIHR: COLORI, PROFUMO DI CHAMPAGNE E MAGGESE.

ITA: A soli 15 minuti da Colmar c’è il meraviglioso paesino di Riquewihr. Cos’ha di speciale? E’ nascosto tra un mare di viti di champagne, noi le abbiamo viste tutte colorate del giallo autunnale ed erano davvero mozzafiato! Le case sono rimaste come un tempo, coloratissime e con dettagli unici. E’ stato scelto come location dal mitico Cesare Cremonini per girare il video “Maggese”! 🙂

ENG: Just 15 minutes by car from Colmar there is the wonderful village of Riquewihr. What is special for? It’s hidden in a sea of champagne vines, we have seen it in their colorful yellow and they were really amazing! The houses have remained as before, with colorful and unique details.
